2025 Year End Financial Report
A look ahead for 2026
2025 was a year of transition for POZabilities financially. For many years AIDS Walk provided sufficient funds to allow for the programming we wanted to provide. This event ended in 2023 and so we began looking for alternative funding sources. In 2024 we were able to continue our programming thanks to community-led fundraisers benefiting POZabilities in addition to grants from local organizations. In 2025 we moved forward with our first in-house fundraiser, A Sweet Affair, which was a success. We also continued our partnership with Impulse San Diego on the Red Ribbon Gala, closing the year with a bang. The Human Dignity Foundation provided a grant which has fully funded our Healthy Living program for the year, providing exercise and nutrition activities to promote a healthier lifestyle. Other ideas are in the works to allow us to continue to control our own financial destiny. We have also maintained a savings balance to allow us one year of programming should we fail to raise sufficient funds in any one year.
So as of today, our financial outlook is sound.
First, let’s take a look at the fundraisers held to benefit POZabilities;
A Sweet Affair
Terry Summers conceived and produced our first in-house fundraiser, A Sweet Affair. This dessert and wine social included an opportunity to sample the dessert and confectionary treats from local businesses along with a glass of wine. Thee was also a silent auction with art and other items donated by local businesses and artists. Held at the Balboa PArk Recital Hall, this event raised over $9,000.
Red Ribbon Gala
Impulse San Diego continued their support on World AIDS Day with a joint event bringing together the younger and older LGBTQ communities in San Diego to remember those who we have lost, those living with HIV and to celebrate progress in ending the epidemic. The event, held at Rich’s nightclub featuring Delta Work as MC and a packed house for a short film highlighting the importance of our communities in ending the HIV epidemic, a quirky Q&A with members of the younger and older generation answering questions sent to Delta Work as well as a silent auction. The event raised over $10,000 dollars in total and shows the strong benefits of collaboration. We look forward to more events with Impulse!
