August Wilson’s Fences

  • Old Globe Theatre 1363 Old Globe Way San Diego, CA, 92101 United States (map)

The Old Globe has offered POZabilities 20 tickets to August Wilson’s Fences this Saturday, April 25th at 8:00 p.m.

Please RSVP no later than noon this Friday, April 24th. We will send out instructions to pick up tickets when we hear back from the theater.

Before responding, please check to see if you’ve already requested tickets to either the SD Symphony or the SDGMC Concert, also scheduled for Saturday evening.

These tickets are offered on a first come, first served basis. As we normally get more RSVP requests than we have available seats, please help us all out by only requesting what you plan to use and if your plans change let us know ASAP so that we can offer the tickets to someone else. While the theatre will try and accommodate an overflow list, there are no guarantees beyond the first 20 seats requested.

Please sign up using the form below.

Directed by Delicia Turner Sonnenberg

Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award -winning Fences is a powerful exploration of fatherhood, identity, and legacy.

Set in 1957, the play follows Troy Maxson, a former Negro League baseball star, now a sanitation worker. Grappling with the burden of his broken dreams, Troy struggles to assert control over his family and his future. Director of Deceived and Trouble in Mind, Old Globe favorite Delicia Turner Sonnenberg helms this deeply human portrait of a family’s love and resilience.

Content Advisory: This play contains mature themes, depictions of violence, and strong language, including the use of the N-word within the Black community.

Total running time: Two hours and 10 minutes with one intermission.
